Smooth Touch: Candelilla Wax works on a variety of skin types. It’s known to ease dryness and the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

Soothing that Sticks: As an emulsifier, Candelilla Wax is an effective binding agent that easily blends with natural and synthetic ingredients, like waxes and resins. This also helps bind constituents evenly, ideal for making creams and lotions.

Firm Grasp on Cosmetics: On top of adding firmness to candle formulations, Candelilla Wax helps solidify and smooth topical beauty products such as eye shadow and lip balm.

None of your Beeswax: Candelilla Wax is a versatile, plant-based alternative to beeswax, making it ideal for vegan-friendly products.

DESCRIPTION

This so-called “little candle” has a big impact on cosmetics. Candelilla Wax acts as a thickening, hardening, and protective agent that’s beneficial to lip balms and moisturizers, and provides texture and stability to beauty formulations. It’s a trusted, plant-based substitute to beeswax, and is often used to make vegan-friendly products. Used in skin care, it keeps skin moisturized while providing protection against environmental stressors.

Candelilla Wax is derived from the leaves of the small Candelilla shrub. The name, meaning "little candle," reflects its history of use in candle making and the plant's upright, wax-coated stems. These leaves produce a scale-like covering on the plant, which acts as a natural self-defense mechanism against extreme heat and arid desert conditions. The wax is obtained by boiling the leaves and stems in an acidic solution, then skimming the surface for further processing. This Candelilla Wax is triple refined, with a particle size of approximately 1 mm.
