Jasmone

This constituent is a volatile portion of Jasmine flowers. It exists in two forms: cis-Jasmone and trans-Jasmone. Both forms have similar chemical properties and scents that can be described as clean and fruity with a Jasmine absolute note. Cis-Jasmone also naturally occurs in several other plants such as Neroli, Bergamot, Spearmint, and Peppermint. Jasmone has a warm, spicy, floral scent and is heavily used in creating fine fragrances as well as to add the Jasmine floral scent to cosmetics.
