An herb is the flowering or leafy green part of any plant, although it can also be roots, seeds, root bark, inner bark (and cambium), resin and pericarp. An herb bears seeds and does not have a wood stem. After flowering, herb stems weaken and die, falling to the ground. Herbs can be perennials, biennials, or annuals.
